Saas-almagel hotels - About Saas-almagel


Coordinates: 46°9′N 7°57′E / 46.15, 7.95 (Saas-Almagell)

Saas-Almagell is a municipality in the district of Visp in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.

It is located approximately 5 km from Saas-Fee. Saas-Almagell has a small town square with a grocery store, bank, and souvenir shops, as well as tourist accommodations. It has a youth hostel and sports centre.

It is the starting point for the small independent ski area of Furggstalden-Heidbodme which is also part of the combined Saastal ski region, albeit connected to the other parts of the region by postal bus, rather than dedicated skilifts. As well as downhill skiing and snowboarding pistes, it has cross-country skiing and sledging trails. It was the early home of the famous Swiss skier Pirmin Zurbriggen.
